The European Parliament,

–  having regard to the Commission delegated regulation (C(2020)08462),

–  having regard to the Commission's letter of 17 December 2020 asking Parliament to declare that it will raise no objections to the delegated regulation,

–  having regard to the letter from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development to the Chair of the Conference of Committee Chairs of 14 January 2021,

–  having regard to Article 290 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

–  having regard to Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2018 on organic production and labelling of organic products and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007(1), and in particular Article 12(2)(e), Article 14(2)(c) and Article 15(2)(a) and (d) thereof,

–  having regard to Rule 111(6) of its Rules of Procedure,

–  having regard to the recommendation for a decision of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development,

A.  whereas, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting extensive movement restrictions, exceptional difficulties have been encountered by all Member States and by farmers in all Member States;

B.  whereas the date of application of Regulation (EU) 2018/848, initially set for 1 January 2021, has been recently amended by Regulation (EU) 2020/1693 to 1 January 2022;

C.  whereas the delegated regulation aims at aligning the date of application of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/427(2) with the amended date of application of Regulation (EU) 2018/848;

D.  whereas, to avoid confusion and ensure legal certainty for the organic sector, it is of paramount importance to speed up the entry into force of the delegated regulation;

1.  Declares that it has no objections to the delegated regulation;

2.  Instructs its President to forward this decision to the Council and the Commission.
