Important information: EYE2020 postponed

The European Parliament decided to postpone the event following the actions taken by the French authorities in relation to events and gatherings with more than 1.000 people and in view of the exceptional measures taken in relation with the COVID-19 outbreak. Parliament's authorities took the decision in line with the precautionary measures in the context of the COVID19 outbreak. Everyone's safety is our main priority.

The final decision on the date of the event will be taken in due course by Parliament and will be communicated to you as soon it is known and information about the impact on your participation at the EYE will follow.

The EYE goes online

EYE online
As the European Youth Event (EYE2020) is postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the European Parliament presents a special online edition of the event, with different activities organised in digital formats.

The EYE Online offers young people from all over the European Union and beyond a unique opportunity to virtually meet and inspire each other, share their stories and exchange their views with experts, decision-makers, activists and influencers.

What is the EYE?

Every two years, the European Youth Event (EYE) brings together at the European Parliament in Strasbourg thousands of young people from all over the European Union and beyond to shape and share their ideas on the future of Europe. It is a unique opportunity for 16 to 30 years olds to meet and inspire each other and exchange their views with experts, activists, influencers and decision-makers right in the heart of European democracy.

Following the event, the ideas, concerns, and hopes from young people are presented in a report distributed to all Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). Some participants will also be able to further develop the most impactful ideas and present these directly to the MEPs in the parliamentary committees during "Youth Hearings".

The EYE strives to promote equality, inclusiveness and sustainability with a strong commitment to accessibility for everyone. Our aim is to accommodate the needs of all participants, including persons with disabilities, and to implement actions that make the event more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The EYE is in process of obtaining ISO 20121 certification for sustainable event management.

Should you have accessibility issues, please visit the "Accessibility" section or do not hesitate to contact us!
