Taking the floor in meetings with interpretation

Speaking in meetings with interpretation

4 tips for your speech

  1. Send your speaking points

Your speaking points are a powerful tool for interpreters to prepare for your meeting. Send them at any moment, even last minute, to your meeting organiser who will forward them to the interpretation team. They will be treated in confidentiality.

  2. Speak at a natural pace

Our interpreters are among the best in the world and you do not need to slow down for them when speaking freely. If you have to read from a document, please send in your speaking points in advance.

  3. Speak your mother tongue

Interpreters will interpret your message in the languages provided for in the meeting, no matter which official language you speak. Do not miss out on the opportunity to speak in the language that you command best.

  4. When online, use a microphone recommended by the Parliament interpretation service

Good sound is a prerequisite for good communication in multilingual meetings. When connecting online, please use one of these microphones.
