Financial assistance

The European Parliament's interpreting service can provide financial assistance in the form of grants for actions related to conference interpreter training. The aim of the grants programme is to help educate new generations of qualified conference interpreters in order to address existing shortages for some languages, to prepare for the future accession of candidate countries, and to maintain a high standard of interpreting in the European Union's official languages and the languages of its main political partners.

What can be funded?

  • Actions related to the organisation of high-quality master or post-graduate courses in conference interpreting.
  • Projects aimed at supporting interpreter training (e.g. virtual learning / e-learning tools, dissemination of best practices, quality assurance, training for trainers, student mobility, teacher mobility, etc.).

Who can apply?

  • Universities, university institutes, consortia and associations of universities or institutes which offer or coordinate postgraduate courses specialising in conference interpreting.
  • Associations, consortia and bodies whose main mission is to support cooperation and disseminate best practice in the field of worldwide conference interpreter training.
