Webinar on the upcoming State of the European Union debate-8 September 2021

We are delighted to invite you to a webinar on Wednesday 8 September from 10.00am–11.15am on the upcoming State of the Union debate in the European Parliament, opened by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.   This webinar will provide an opportunity for Irish stakeholders and participants to have their say on what they want to hear in this year’s State of the Union address and debate.  Panellists include MEPs Deirdre Clune and Ciaran Cuffe. Prior registration required.

This event is being organised by the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland and the European Commission Representation in Ireland, in co-operation with European Movement Ireland

Format:  Our panelists will speak for three minutes each, highlighting three issues they want to hear about in the State of the Union debate, which will take place on 15 September in the European Parliament. This will be followed by a panel discussion where we will welcome contributions from webinar participants in the live debate and on social media.

 

Background

Every year in September, the President of the European Commission delivers the State of the Union address before the European Parliament, taking stock of the past year and presenting priorities for the year ahead.  Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver her address on 15 September 2021.
