Proposal to amend the Humanitarian aid regulation
In “A Stronger Europe in the World”
On 29 May 2020, the European Commission published a proposal to amend the regulation concerning humanitarian aid and the Humanitarian Aid Instrument in order to allow resources from the proposed European Union Recovery Instrument to be used to 'reinforce EU humanitarian assistance and support capacity building to enhance future crisis prevention and preparedness'.The top-up has not happened and the proposal is obsolete, due to the vote on a new budget. The European Commission is expected to formally withdraw the proposal.
