The European Parliament has a network of liaison offices in the capital cities of the member states.

The office in Valletta, Malta, which opened in July 2003, answers your questions about the role and the ongoing legislative work of the European Parliament and provides general information about the EU.

The office can also inform you about your rights as an EU citizen.

We welcome enquires via email at epvalletta@europarl.europa.eu or by phone on +356 21235075.

Of course, you can also visit our office during working hours, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 till 17:30.

The office assists media interested in the European Parliament and issues press releases and organises press conferences and seminars as it deems fit, to keep the Maltese public informed on parliamentary activities.

Journalists are invited to report about plenary sessions in Strasbourg or Brussels "on the spot" on a regular basis.

Our press briefings give an advance overview of the agenda for each plenary session and are available for the media and other interested parties.

What We Do For the Environment

The European Parliament is registered with the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), alongside 11 other EU institutions and bodies.

In support of the European Green Deal and the EU’s commitment to transitioning to a carbon neutrality by 2030, the European Commission decided to apply EMAS to all the houses of Europe located in the member states in 2020. The European Parliament Liaison Office and European Commission Representation in Malta is one of the first two Europe Houses selected to fulfil the EMAS requirements.

We're now on our way to being fully EMAS-certified.

Europe House already encourages all its partners to reduce the consumption of resources used in the daily running of our premises: eliminating single-use plastic, reducing waste, and reusing and recycling as much as possible, in the pursuit of an overall smaller carbon footprint, for the benefit of all.

Under the direction of EMAS, we aim to constantly improve our environmental management systems, environmental performance and therefore reduce the environmental impact of our everyday work.

The scheme ensures that all environmental aspects, from energy consumption to waste and emissions, are implemented in a legally compliant and transparent manner.
