Reports - as rapporteur

A rapporteur is appointed in the responsible parliamentary committee to draft a report on proposals of a legislative or budgetary nature, or other issues. In drafting their report, rapporteurs may consult with relevant experts and stakeholders. They are also responsible for the drafting of compromise amendments and negotiations with shadow rapporteurs. Reports adopted at committee level are then examined and voted on in plenary. Rule 55

Reports - as shadow rapporteur

Political groups designate a shadow rapporteur for each report in the responsible committee to follow progress and negotiate compromise texts with the rapporteur. Rule 215

Opinions - as rapporteur

Committees may draft an opinion to a report of the responsible committee covering the elements linked to their committee remit. Rapporteurs of such opinions are also responsible for the drafting of compromise amendments and negotiations with shadow rapporteurs of the opinion. Rule 56, Rule 57, Annex VI

Zero tolerance for female genital mutilation (B8-0068/2018) DE

Klare Unterstützung für die Forderung „Null Toleranz gegenüber Genitalverstümmelung bei Frauen“ in der gleichnamigen Resolution, die wir im Europäischen Parlament verabschiedet haben. Genitalverstümmelung ist eine grausame Form der Verletzung der Rechte von Frauen und stellt weltweit leider immer noch ein Problem dar. Die Forderungen betreffend den reproduktiven und sexuellen Rechte lehne ich entschieden ab und daher habe ich gegen die entsprechenden Anträge im Text gestimmt.

Ich habe mich bei dem Entschließungsantrag zu dem Entwurf der Verordnung der Kommission zur Festlegung wissenschaftlicher Kriterien für die Bestimmung endokrinschädlicher Eigenschaften enthalten. Die Evaluierung von wissenschaftlichen Kriterien soll keine politische Entscheidung sein, denn bei der Ausarbeitung selbiger waren Experten im Einsatz. Dem Vorwurf, dass der Verordnungsvorschlag nicht objektiv klassifizierbar wäre, steht die Gefahr gegenüber, dass die derzeit geltenden interimistischen Kriterien nicht geeignet sind, die endokrinen Disruptoren nach heutigem Stand der Technik zufriedenstellend zu regeln. Die Europäische Kommission ist aufgerufen, dieses Vakuum so schnell wie möglich zu schließen.
