Η Επιτροπή Απασχόλησης και Κοινωνικών Υποθέσεων ασχολήθηκε με το θέμα του Europass, έτσι ώστε να δημιουργηθεί ένα πλαίσιο για τις δεξιότητες και τα επαγγελματικά προσόντα. Σε μια Ευρώπη όπου η ανεργία συνεχώς αυξάνεται διότι οι χώρες αναγκάζονται να ακολουθούν πολιτικές λιτότητας είναι επιτακτική η ανάγκη βελτίωσης κάθε μέσου που μπορεί να διευκολύνει την εύρεση εργασίας. Σύμφωνα με την έκθεση και μετά από πρόταση της Επιτροπής, η EUROPASS θα μετασχηματιστεί σε βάση δεδομένων ελεύθερης πρόσβασης, η οποία θα προάγει τις δυνατότητες των ατόμων που τη χρησιμοποιούν. Σημαντικό είναι ότι προβλέπεται η μη δυνατότητα λήψης αρχείων και η μετάφραση σε όλες τις ευρωπαϊκέ γλώσσες. Για όλα τα παραπάνω και κυρίως για να βοηθήσουμε τους άνεργους νέους σε ένα νέο ξεκίνημα, ψήφισα θετικά την έκθεση.

Η πρόταση της Επιτροπής Πολιτισμού και Παιδείας αφορούσε το πρόγραμμα «Δημιουργική Ευρώπη» 20140-2020. Το ζητούμενο της συγκεκριμένης έκθεσης ήταν η υποστήριξη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ορχήστρας Νέων (EUYO), η οποία αποτελείται από νέους μουσικούς και αρχικά χρηματοδοτήθηκε από την Ένωση για ένα διάστημα τριάντα ετών. Είναι βασικό στοιχείο διάσωσης του πολιτισμού και μέσω αυτού οι νέοι δραστηριοποιούνται περισσότερο στον τομέα την κλασσικής μουσικής και μάλιστα σε ευρωπαϊκό αντί εθνικό επίπεδο. Η έκθεση αναφέρει ότι η χρηματοδότηση θα γίνει μέσω του ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος «Δραστήρια Ευρώπη» αφού πρώτα η Ευρωπαϊκή Ορχήστρα Νέων αναγνωριστεί ως φορέας που προσδιορίζεται μέσω βασικής πράξης.

Ψήφισα θετικά την πρόταση της επιτροπής για τα δικαιώματα των γυναικών και την ισότητα των φύλλων, η οποία αφορούσε την ισότητα μεταξύ των δύο φίλων στις εμπορικές συμφωνίες της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Οι γυναίκες έχουν αναπτύξει έναν πολύ σημαντικό ρόλο στο εμπόριο και μάλιστα είναι πάρα πολλές αυτές που δραστηριοποιούνται σε κλάδους παροχής υπηρεσιών. Η αναφορά τους όμως στις συμφωνίες ήταν σχεδόν ανύπαρκτη. Η παρούσα έκθεση λοιπόν καλεί την Επιτροπή και το Συμβούλιο να υποστηρίξει την ύπαρξη ενός συγκεκριμένου κεφαλαίου στις εμπορικές συμφωνίες που θα αφορά την ισότητα των φύλλων και ζητά έντονα, νέα μέτρα τα οποία θα εξελίξουν περαιτέρω τη ζωή των γυναικών στο εργασιακό τους περιβάλλον. Έγινε μια εξαιρετική δουλειά σε επίπεδο επιτροπής, από δύο γυναίκες ευρωβουλευτές της Ευρωπαϊκής Αριστεράς, γεγονός που σε συνδυασμό με τα παραπάνω με οδήγησαν σε θετική ψήφο.
