I voted in support of the EU-Uzbekistan Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. This agreement establishes a new legal basis for reinforcing political dialogue and deepening cooperation between the EU and Uzbekistan. Such areas include trade and investment, sustainable development and connectivity, intellectual property, research and innovation, education. My vote was attributable to my support of the EU's commitment to deepening our cooperation with Central Asian countries for the mutual benefit of all citizens. I believe that a strong partnership with Uzbekistan is a valuable mechanism to open opportunities for collaboration in various areas, and will have positive impacts for years to come.
