. – Con il voto in Plenaria di oggi, il Parlamento europeo ha inviato un chiaro messaggio: siamo pronti a definire la prima normativa al mondo sull'Intelligenza Artificiale (IA). Il testo adottato mantiene gli esseri umani e i loro diritti fondamentali al centro della proposta, garantendo al contempo la certezza del diritto, evitando sovrapposizioni con la legislazione esistente e mirando a stimolare l'innovazione. È stato dato il giusto rilievo alla tutela dei cittadini e della loro privacy.
In questo senso, ad esempio, abbiamo incluso nel testo il divieto di riconoscimento facciale in tempo reale per evitare qualsiasi rischio di sorveglianza di massa. Ho votato a favore di questa legge perché ritengo che adottare tempestivamente degli standard comuni a livello europeo sia di importanza cruciale per sviluppare le potenzialità di queste nuove tecnologie.
Con l'approvazione del testo, l'Europa vuole essere, infatti, non solo regolatrice ma anche innovatrice. Si tratta di un passo importante, un'innovazione positiva e dalla parte delle persone.

. – La proposta di legge sulle batterie è stata approvata oggi definitivamente al Parlamento europeo. Una grande rivoluzione per la nostra sostenibilità. Le batterie giocano un ruolo centrale per la decarbonizzazione dei trasporti e diventeranno le più sostenibili a livello globale grazie all'introduzione degli obblighi di design, riciclaggio e recupero.
Si darà vita a una forma di economia circolare vera e propria attorno al mondo delle batterie, dalla produzione allo smaltimento. Ho sostenuto convintamente questo ulteriore passo importante verso una mobilità più sostenibile.
