Written explanations of vote

Members can submit a written explanation of their vote in plenary. Rule 194

Conclusions of the extraordinary European Council meeting of 17-21 July 2020 (B9-0229/2020)

I voted in favour of this report. While the agreement reached by the Council this week on the recovery package, Next Generation EU, is very welcome, it is regrettable that the long-term budget, the MFF, is facing cuts to European programmes, particularly in important areas at this time such as research, innovation and health. I look forward to the Council reaching agreement with the Parliament soon.

Guidelines for the employment policies of the Member States (A9-0124/2020 -José Gusmão)

I supported this report which presents revised guidelines for EU Member States’ employment policies and calls on them to take into account the unprecedented situation in labour markets due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Draft amending budget no 5 to the general budget 2020 Continuation of the support to refugees and host communities in response to the Syria crisis in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey (A9-0127/2020 - Monika Hohlmeier)

I voted in favour of this report, which allows for the continuation of support to refugees and host communities in response to the Syria crisis in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, allowing the EU to honour its commitments to protect refugees.

Written questions

Members can submit a specific number of questions to the President of the European Council, the Council, the Commission and the Vice-President of the Commission/High Representative of the Union, for written answer. Rule 138, Annex III
