Am votat în favoarea rezoluției privind solicitarea unui aviz din partea Curții de Justiție cu privire la compatibilitatea cu tratatele a propunerilor de aderare a Uniunii Europene la Convenția Consiliului Europei privind prevenirea și combaterea violenței împotriva femeilor și a violenței domestice și privind procedura de aderare.
În acest moment există o insecuritate juridică în ceea ce privește compatibilitatea cu tratatele a aderării la Convenția de la Istanbul, astfel cum a fost propusă de Consiliu, în special în ceea ce privește alegerea temeiului juridic adecvat pentru deciziile privind semnarea și încheierea de către Uniunea Europeană a convenției și în ceea ce privește posibila împărțire în două decizii, privind semnarea și încheierea convenției, ca o consecință a alegerii respective privind temeiul juridic.
Violența împotriva femeilor trebuie pedepsită aspru în toate statele membre. Din păcate, în țara mea, în multe cazuri, violatorii scapă cu pedepse minime sau cu închisoare cu suspendare. Cred că avem nevoie de un cadru juridic armonizat pentru combaterea și pedepsirea faptelor de violență împotriva femeilor și copiilor.

EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (A8-0053/2019 - David Martin) RO

Am votat pentru Acordul de liber schimb cu Singapore.
După nouă ani de negocieri, în sfârșit, Parlamentul și-a exprimat poziția în favoarea acestui tratat. Singapore este un partener de nădejde, dar și un pionier în ceea ce privește inovația. Schimburile comerciale cu Singapore înseamnă mai multe locuri de muncă pentru europeni, dar și deschiderea de piețe noi pentru producători.
Mă bucură extrem de mult faptul că în acest acord au fost incluse și angajamentele legate de Acordul de la Paris privind schimbările climatice.

Sustainable use of pesticides (A8-0045/2019 - Jytte Guteland) RO

Am votat pentru rezolutia privind utilizarea durabila a pesticidelor.
In raportul meu privind implementarea celui de-al 7lea Program pentru Mediu, am amintit ca pana in 2020, CE trebuie sa se asigure ca utilizarea produselor de protecție a plantelor să nu aibă efecte dăunătoare asupra sănătății umane sau influențe inacceptabile asupra mediului și ca astfel de produse vor fi utilizate în mod sustenabil.
Directiva 2009/128/CE a Parlamentului European și a Consiliului privind utilizarea durabilă a pesticidelor prevede o serie de acțiuni pentru a obține o utilizare sustenabilă a pesticidelor în UE prin reducerea riscurilor și a efectelor acestora asupra sănătății umane și asupra mediului și prin promovarea utilizării gestionării integrate a dăunătorilor (IPM) și a unor tehnici sau abordări alternative, cum ar fi alternativele nechimice la pesticide.
Din pacate, la nivelul statelor membre nu se fac suficiente eforturi pentru aplicarea coerenta si eficienta a acestei directive
