Future of Europe: MEPs to discuss recommendations by European Citizens’ Panels
On Wednesday afternoon, MEPs will discuss the Panels’ ideas on “European democracy / Values and rights, rule of law, security” and “Climate change, environment / Health”.
The European Citizens’ Panels of the Conference on the Future of Europe have delivered two sets of recommendations so far. The Panel on “European democracy / Values and rights, rule of law, security” agreed on its 39 recommendations on 12 December 2021 at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. The Panel on “Climate change, environment / Health” followed suit at the Natolin (Poland) campus of the College of Europe on 9 January 2022, with 51 recommendations of its own.

The discussion will take place in view of the upcoming Conference Plenary session that will look into these European Citizens’ Panels’ recommendations, which is set to take place on 21-22 January in Strasbourg.

Information to the media about COVID-19 precautions
As of 3 November, all people entering Parliament's buildings, including journalists, have to present a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate. The EU Digital COVID Certificate proves that a person is either fully vaccinated, has immunity after having recovered from COVID-19 or can show a recent negative PCR test result. Both digital and paper formats of the EU Digital COVID Certificate or of a recognised equivalent certificate will be accepted. Proof of a negative result of a PCR test carried out within the last 72 hours in Belgium, Luxembourg or France will also be accepted. Please note that the existing precautionary measures, including the compulsory wearing of a medical face mask and temperature checks at entrances, remain in place. More information here.
