EU strategy for the Arctic

MEPs will set out their priorities for the EU strategy for the Arctic in a non-binding resolution to be voted on Wednesday. Likely issues include the sustainability of natural resource use, new economic opportunities and transport links, the impact of global warming, and how best to meet the needs of local people, both indigenous and non-indigenous.

The EU strategy for the Arctic was debated by MEPs on 17 April 2013.
