Nigeria: European Parliament may urge international action against Boko Haram
Parliament will condemn the recent Boko Haram massacres in Nigeria in a resolution to be voted on Thursday. It is also likely to call on the international community to tackle the causes of terrorism there. MEPs debated this issue with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on 14 January in Strasbourg .
MEPs called in the January debate for an international inquiry into the recent atrocities which reportedly left 2,000 dead and urged the EU to step up its assistance to help Nigeria to fight terrorism.
