MEPs to call for measures to protect victims of terrorism  

What measures does the Commission plan to take to ensure protection and support for the victims of terrorism in the EU? In the context of the Union´s strategy to fight terrorism, MEPs will call on the Commission on Monday to address the specific needs of the victims of terrorist attacks.

Note to editors

The EU adopted a directive establishing minimum basic rights across the EU for victims of crime, including those of terrorist attacks, in October 2012, with a three-year period for transposing it into domestic law in the member states.
