MEPs to urge EU to help base metals/steel industry 

The EU should do more to help its base metals and steel industry, including revising its trade defence instruments, urges a draft non-legislative resolution to be voted on Wednesday. The industry needs more predictable energy prices, a clear legal framework for electricity supply, a harmonisation of the state aid-based compensation regime for indirect costs, and schemes to transfer skills between generations of workers, it says.
