MEPs to debate Dutch Presidency priorities with Prime Minister Mark Rutte
MEPs are set to debate the priorities of the Dutch Council Presidency with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Wednesday morning.
The Dutch Presidency bases its priorities on three principles: "a Union that focuses on the essentials, a Union that creates innovative growth and jobs, and a Union that connects with society". It wants to achieve results in the areas of migration and international security, innovation and employment, sound finances and a robust Eurozone and a forward looking climate and energy policy.
EP President Schulz, Prime Minister Rutte and Commission President Juncker will hold a joint press conference after the debate at round 12.30.
A review of the outgoing Luxembourg Presidency with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
