Bulgaria hands over Council presidency to Austria 

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz are to discuss legislative progress in the Council with MEPs and Jean-Claude Juncker on Tuesday morning, in separate debates.

Political group leaders will assess the achievements of the outgoing - first ever - Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU with Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and EU Commission President Jean-Claude Junker on Tuesday morning, starting at 9:00.

In a second debate, starting at around 10.00, the Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz will present the priorities of the incoming presidency. Austria has already held the rotating Council presidency in 1998 and 2006.
