EU Budget 2019: focus on the young, investments for growth and jobs 

On Wednesday, MEPs will confirm their negotiating position for the 2019 EU budget, before starting talks with the Council of ministers.

In the draft position up for a vote, MEPs propose to boost funds for Erasmus+, tackling youth unemployment and migration, research, infrastructure investments and climate protection. More information can be found in the recent press releases on the budgetary resolution and on the figures.

Next steps

The plenary vote will kick off three weeks of “conciliation” talks with the Council, with the aim of reaching a deal between the two institutions in time for next year's budget, to be voted on by Parliament and signed by its President on 29 November.
