MEPs to discuss the delivery of promised ammunition to Ukraine
On Tuesday afternoon, MEPs will quiz the Commission on where the EU stands on its commitment to provide one million rounds of artillery ammunition to Ukraine.
Earlier this year, European Union ministers agreed on a three-track approach to provide Ukraine with one million artillery shells by March 2024, by raiding member states’ own stockpiles and through joint procurement. Kyiv’s forces have often highlighted the problem of ammunition shortages. Recently, however, senior European officials have indicated that the EU is struggling to meet its target. During Tuesday’s question time, MEPs are expected to question the Commission on the reasons why and what the EU can do to better support Ukraine.
Debate: Tuesday 21 November
Procedure: Council and Commission statements
