MEPs on the Foreign Affairs committee will hold a hearing on the "Prospects for Libya in the current regional context". It will assess the current political and security situation in Libya, stabilisation efforts as well as EU role, ahead of the two-years deadline of the Libyan Political Agreement.
The debate with Libyan Mission to the EU and experts will feed into the recommendation on Libya that the European Parliament is due to adopt in the coming months.

Ways to improve management of EU forests, to better to make them better contribute to climate action and to protect their biodiversity, will be debated by MEPs and experts at the joint hearing of Parliament's Agriculture, Environment and Industry committees. On 7 December 2017, AFET/SEDE will hold an extraordinary joint hearing on North Korea to discuss the continuing deterioration of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula. The aim of the hearing is to assess the threat posed by the DPRK's nuclear and ballistic missile build-up and possible consequences for the global non-proliferation regime. Members will also analyse different options for the EU and international community to prevent further escalation of the crisis.

Latest research on crop wild relatives, i.e. naturally growing relatives of cultivated crops, their conservation in both secure gene banks and their natural habitats and the role genetic diversity plays in ensuring food security will be debated by Members and experts during a public hearing organised by the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. Members will also look at how the current EU Biodiversity Strategy is helping to stop global biodiversity loss.
