A delegation of seven MEPs from the civil liberties committee, led by Claude Moraes (S&D,United Kingdom), is visiting ebanon on 19-22 September 2016 to look into the situation of refugees in the light of the ongoing formulation of EU responses to the current refugee crisis, including EU resettlement schemes. The visit will include meetings with representatives of the Lebanese government and Parliament, relevant UN bodies, international and local non-governmental organisation, as well as relevant field visits. It is not the first time that MEPs from the civil liberties committee assess the refugees’ conditions in the field. They have previously visited Calais, Greece and Turkey.
