Reflecting on the tasks that the EU faces, European Parliament president David Sassoli said in his Christmas message: “Our challenge is to build a new world that respects people and nature, with an economy working for the well-being of all, not just the profits of a few. Christmas is the time when hope is born. We must be that hope for all those in need, for all those who face injustice.”
