Heidi Hautala elected Vice-President of the European Parliament
Parliament elected Finnish MEP Heidi Hautala (Greens/EFA) by acclamation as a Vice-President on Thursday. She will take the Bureau seat vacated by Ulrike Lunacek (AT).
Heidi Hautala was first elected as a member of the European Parliament in 1995. She is currently Vice-Chair of the Greens/EFA group and a member of the Development and International Trade committees.
The Bureau (President, 14 Vice-Presidents, 5 Quaestors) is responsible for all matters relating to the internal running of Parliament.
Elections to fill the Vice-Presidents’ seats left vacant by Alexander Graf Lambsdorff (ALDE, DE) and by
Ildikó GÁLL-PELCZ (EPP, HU) will be held at a future session.
