Political situation and general elections in Bolivia: invitation to a press point
Bolivian Foreign Affairs Minister Karen Longaric Rodríguez will hold a press point today, Thursday 1 October, at 16.00 CET.
Ms Longaric Rodríguez will be joined by the Chair of Parliament’s delegation for relations with the countries of the Andean Community, Pilar del Castillo (EPP, ES).
The press point takes place before Ms Longaric Rodríguez’ appearance in the Foreign Affairs Committee later today, at 17.45 CET, where she and Members are expected to discuss the current political situation in Bolivia with a view to the upcoming general elections that have been set for 18 October.
The press point will take place outside meeting room 4Q2 in the Antall building in Brussels at 16.00 CET. Journalists are welcome to attend it in person, provided that social distancing measures are respected, and it will also be broadcast live on the EP website.
Ms Longaric Rodríguez has served as her country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs since November 2019, as part of the government led by Jeanine Áñez, in place since Evo Morales was forced to resign and the general elections held in October 2019 were annulled.
