At 9.00 on Wednesday 15 September, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver her State of the European Union address, followed by a three hour debate with MEPs.

This media advisory provides technical information how to follow and cover the debate.

Audiovisual facilities

We are currently working on the renewal of our audio-visual facilities on the left side of the Chamber. Due to these exceptional circumstances, please note that the usual surface area available to the AV media is reduced next to the Chamber.

The following audiovisual services will be provided in a limited space on the right hand side :


  • Broadcast facilities: three Live positions and two TV studios.
  • One Multimedia studio, two stand-up positions
  • Live camera positions in self-service near the chamber. Each media is to bring its own equipment and cabling; a limited amount of power and internet broadband connections will be available. Please notify your interest in setting up a Live position before Tuesday 14th at 12:00 at avplanning@europarl.europa.eu
