Reminder: Press conference on the Digital Services Act - today, at 13.10, in Strasbourg
Parliament’s rapporteur on the Digital Services Act, Christel Schaldemose, will brief journalists on the outcome of the vote in the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee.
The committee adopted this morning by 36 votes to 7 and 2 abstentions its position on the Digital Services Act (DSA) proposal (press release).
In a press conference at 13.10, the lead MEP steering the file through Parliament, Christel Schaldemose (S&D, DK), will inform the media about the main points of the compromise amendments. Shadow rapporteurs Arba Kokalari (EPP, SV, connecting remotely), Dita Charanzová (Renew Europe, CZ), Alexandra Geese (Greens/EFA, DE) and Adam Bielan (ECR, PL) will also participate in the press conference.
The amended text on the DSA is due to be submitted to the full House in January’s plenary session and then become Parliament’s mandate for the negotiations with the Council, which are planned to start under the French presidency in the first semester of 2022.

EU Digital COVID Certificate to enter Parliament
As of 3 November, all people entering Parliament’s buildings are requested to present a valid EU Digital COVID Certificate, including journalists. The EU Digital COVID Certificate proves that a person is either fully vaccinated, has immunity after having recovered from COVID-19 or can show a recent negative PCR test result. Both digital and paper formats of the EU Digital COVID Certificate or of a recognised equivalent certificate will be accepted.
A proof of a negative result of a PCR test carried out within the last 72 hours in Belgium, Luxembourg or France will also be accepted. Please note that the existing precautionary measures, including the compulsory wearing of a medical face mask and temperature checks at entrances, remain in place.
