Protect workers’ health from dangerous substances

From around 9.00, Parliament will debate with Commissioner Schmit the provisional agreement with Council to strengthen rules to protect workers more robustly against carcinogenic and other hazardous substances by setting EU-wide exposure limits. The vote result will be announced at 13.00.

Resolutions on human rights and democracy

Parliament will hold urgent debates and vote on resolutions on the recent human rights developments in the Philippines, on the death penalty in Iran and on the political crisis in Burkina Faso. Vote results will be announced at 16.00.

Droughts and other extreme weather phenomena


At 8.30, MEPs and Commissioner Dalli will discuss the latest droughts and other extreme weather phenomena on the Iberian Peninsula and other parts of Europe.

Votes

At 8.30, the results from yesterday evening’s votes will be announced, on:


  • the implementation of the common foreign and security policy and of the common security and defence policy in 2021;
  • empowering European youth: post-pandemic employment and social recovery;
  • a statute for European cross-border associations and non-profit organisations;
  • human rights and democracy in the world in 2021;
  • corruption and human rights; and
  • tackling non-tariff and non-tax barriers in the single market.

There will be two remote voting sessions today.


In the first voting session, from 9.45 to 11.00, with results announced at 13.00,

MEPs will take a final vote on

  • the protection of workers from the risks relating to exposure to carcinogens, mutagens and reprotoxins at work.

They will also vote on amendments on


  • charging of heavy goods vehicles for the use of certain infrastructures;
  • the EU priorities for the 66th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women;
  • the recent human rights developments in the Philippines;
  • the death penalty in Iran; and
  • the political crisis in Burkina Faso.

In the second voting session (13.45 - 15.00, with results announced at 16.00), plenary will take final votes on the abovementioned files.
