Legal Affairs Committee delegation to visit Washington, D.C.
The delegation will visit Washington to look into EU-US relations on digital policies, intellectual property, company, environmental and private international law.
Members of the Committee on Legal Affairs will be in Washington, D.C. from 19 to 23 September to meet with US legislators, governmental officials, regulatory agencies, civil society, academia and think tanks.
Topics on the agenda include current developments on artificial intelligence and the Metaverse, intellectual property enforcement, especially in relation to China, Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence, the possible US accession to The Hague 2015 Choice of Court Agreements and the 2019 Judgments Conventions, the protection of the environment through criminal law and measures aimed at tackling strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPPs).
The visit will feed into the ongoing and upcoming work of the Legal Affairs Committee on these topics.
