Active since April 2022, the European Parliament’s Committee of Inquiry to investigate the use of Pegasus and equivalent surveillance spyware (PEGA) has commissioned studies, held hearings with experts, and organised three fact-finding visits (to Israel, Poland, Greece and Cyprus), with more to follow.

The Committee’s rapporteur Sophie In ‘t Veld (Renew, Netherlands) will present a summary of the draft report, summarising their key findings and providing recommendations for the future.

Later in November, PEGA will organise a debate about the draft report, allowing political groups to express their views. Subsequently Committee members will submit amendments, so that the committee can vote on its final findings in 2023.
