MEPs to discuss gender equality in parliamentary life with national parliaments

On Thursday, the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee will look at how to incorporate gender equality in all policies with representatives of national parliaments.

In this exchange with representatives of national parliaments on gender equality in the context of parliamentary life, Members will discuss how to include a gender equality perspective (also known as gender mainstreaming) in parliaments. The event will focus on two main topics - anti-harassment rules, how to implement them and apply sanctions when they are breached, and gender action plans.

The MEPs leading on gender mainstreaming, Irène Tolleret (Renew, FR) and Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield (Greens/EFA, FR), will be on the two panels, with representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and academia.
