Child sexual abuse online: MEPs ready to start negotiations

Press Releases

The European Parliament has adopted its negotiating mandate for a new law on fighting and preventing child sexual abuse online.

Since no objection was raised in the Parliament plenary to opening negotiations on the basis of the committee vote, talks on the final form of the law can start as soon as the Council has adopted its position.

For the Parliament, negotiations will be led by rapporteur Javier Zarzalejos (EPP, Spain).
