Floods in Central and Eastern Europe
At 9.00, plenary will debate with Commissioner Lenarčič the damage caused by the devastating floods in Central and Eastern Europe and how prepared the EU is to act on such disasters, which are exacerbated by climate change. MEPs’ views will be wrapped up in a resolution to be put to a vote on Thursday.

EU budget for 2025
Starting around 14.00, MEPs are set to criticise the cuts proposed by the Council to EU funding in 2025, in a debate with Commissioner Hahn and Hungary’s secretary of state for Public Finance, Péter Benő Banai.

Parliament’s concerns over Hungary’s National Card scheme
From around 15.30, plenary will assess the consequences of Hungary’s decision to extend its residence permit system to Russian and Belarusian nationals with Commissioner Kyriakides and Hungarian Minister for EU Affairs, János Bóka.

LUX film award: announcement of nominees
The five films shortlisted for the 2025 edition of the LUX European Audience Film Award will be unveiled in a press conference at 15.00.
In brief
EU response to the mpox outbreak. Starting around 17.00, MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Kyriakides how to tackle the mpox outbreak and its possible spread in Europe.
Human rights. From around 18.00, plenary will look into the deteriorating situation of women in Afghanistan, the severe situation of political prisoners in Belarus and the case of José Daniel Ferrer García in Cuba. Three separate resolutions will be put to the vote on Thursday.
Organised crime in the EU. Immediately after the voting session at noon, MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Hahn the threat to Europe’s internal security posed by organised crime.
Vote on interparliamentary delegations. At noon, MEPs will vote on the structure and numerical composition of EP’s interparliamentary delegations. The MEPs that will sit on each delegation will be announced in the Chamber later in the afternoon.
