MEPs will vote on Wednesday on the report on enhanced EU-Canada cooperation, prepared by rapporteur Tobias Cremer (S&D, Germany), in light of the current geopolitical context.

In a draft report, adopted in the Committee on Foreign Affairs in February 2026, MEPs urge the EU to increase cooperation with Canada in the face of Russia’s war against Ukraine as well as rising hybrid attacks, terrorism, and foreign interference. The report advocates the swift implementation of the outcomes of the EU–Canada summit of 23 June 2025.
