Vice-President Metsola opened the 18-21 October session in Strasbourg.

Following discriminatory and disruptive incidents that took place at the 2021 European Youth Event (8-9 October, in Strasbourg and online), there will be an investigation and follow-up by the President, announced Vice-President Metsola.

The political groups have appointed their members to the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Assembly. The list of members will be published on the parliament’s website and will be annexed to the minutes of the opening session.

Outgoing MEPs

Sven Schulze (EPP, DE) as of 28 September 2021.

Norbert Neuser (S&D, DE) as of 11 January 2022.


Incoming MEPs

Karolin Braunsberger-Reinhold (EPP, DE) as of 7 October 2021.



Changes to the agenda

The revised final draft agenda has been approved by the Conference of Presidents by written procedure.

The winner of the Sakharov Prize will be announced in the afternoon at 3pm.



Requests by committees to start negotiations with Council and Commission


Decisions by committees to enter into inter-institutional negotiations (Rule 72) are published on the plenary website.


If no request for a vote in Parliament on the decision to enter into negotiations is made by Tuesday 12.00 midnight, the committees may start negotiations.
