European Commission to present its 2021 work programme
MEPs will comment on the Commission’s 2021 work programme, to be presented by Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič on Tuesday at 15.00.
Following the State of the European Union debate with President Ursula von der Leyen in Parliament on 16 September, the Commission will roll out its plans to boost recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and build a resilient, carbon-neutral and digitally advanced EU economy that leaves no one behind.
In her letter of intent (16.09.2020) to Parliament President David Sassoli and to the German Presidency, von der Leyen named key areas for action in 2021. The letter marked the start of the interinstitutional dialogue on priorities for the next year.
