MEPs to vote on candidate for top body of the European Central Bank
On Monday, the plenary will vote on whether Dutchman Frank Elderson should join the Executive Board of the European Central Bank.
With Yves Mersch’s term of office as member of the ECB Executive Board coming to an end, a replacement is needed and the European Parliament must be consulted on the candidate put forward by the Council.
The plenary vote will be based on the positive recommendation given last week by the EP’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee after quizzing the candidate.
Procedure: Consultation
Voting results: Tuesday, 24 November
