MEPs will also meet tourism sector representatives to discuss how to incorporate tourism in regional growth and development.

Morocco. An nine-strong multi-Committee (AFET, DROI, FEMM, DMAG) delegation, led by the Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs committee, Anders Primdahl VISTISEN (ECR, DK), will travel to Morocco on 17-19 July to meet the heads of the country, Speakers of both Chambers and civil society representatives to foster EU-Morocco relations, assess human rights situation and women's condition in the country. MEPs will also visit services aiming at facilitating the social and professional reintegration of migrants from Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal as well as an aeronautic industries technopole. (Monday to Wednesday)

This delegation, from the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE) is a continuation of previous missions carried out by the LIBE Committee since 2012 and, in particular, the last mission in 2016. The objective of the visit is to obtain up-to-date information on the state of play and progress in the US on major topics which fall within the remit of the LIBE Committee. Several meetings with US authorities (e.g. Departments of State, Justice, Treasury, Homeland Security, Commerce, Federal Trade Commission) Congress representatives, stakeholders, academics and civil society are scheduled.

The scope of the mission focuses on matters which directly affect EU-US relations in the field of justice and home affairs, more specifically, topics related to the protection of personal data (EU-US Privacy Shield and its implementation by the US, digital privacy and electronic communications, law enforcement), cybercrime, counterterrorism, radicalisation, immigration (ESTA Programme) and protection of victims.

A delegation of MEPs from the Petitions Committee, led by Committee Chair Cecilia WIKSTRÖM (ALDE, SE), will visit the ILVA plant (Europe's largest integrated-cycle steelworks), the ENI oil refinery, and the site of the planned extension of the oil jetty. The purpose of the mission is to provide a follow-up to a series of petitions concerning heavy pollution of the air, soil, surface and ground waters both at the ILVA site and in the nearby Tamburi quarter.

MEPs will meet with petitioners and national, regional and local authorities in order to obtain up-to-date information on matters raised by the petitioners and to identify viable solutions to the longstanding environmental problems. To this end, the delegation will meet with the Commissioner for Environmental Reclamation, the agencies ARPA and ASL responsible for overseeing environmental and public health policy, as well as the technical and administrative managers of ILVA and ENI.
