      1. IMCO delegation to Canada 

        A delegation from the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee will go to Canada from 17 to 21 July to assess the changes that the strengthening of the EU-Canada relationships will entail in several domains, such as the effects on customs functioning following the removal of customs duties, the opening of the Canadian services market to EU companies, the mutual recognition of some qualifications and the effects on consumers.


        Members participating in the delegation are Andreas SCHWAB (EPP, DE), Adam SZEJNFELD (EPP, PL), Nicola DANTI (S&D, IT), Marc TARABELLA (S&D, BE) and Robert IWASZKIEWICZ (EFDD, PL).

      2. TRAN delegation to Sweden 

        A delegation of seven MEPs from the Transport and Tourism committee led by committee Chair Karima DELLI (Greens/EFA, FR) will visit Sweden (Östersund, Sundsvall, Stockholm) on 17-19 July 2017 to meet with Swedish local and national politicians to discuss how to boost green urban transport and electromobility and the development of transport infrastructure projects, including the TEN-T Scandinavian-Mediterranean Corridor. MEPs will also meet tourism sector representatives to discuss how to incorporate tourism in regional growth and development.

        Delegation to Morocco 

        17-19 July

        Morocco. An nine-strong multi-Committee (AFET, DROI, FEMM, DMAG) delegation, led by the Vice-Chair of the Foreign Affairs committee, Anders Primdahl VISTISEN (ECR, DK), will travel to Morocco on 17-19 July to meet the heads of the country, Speakers of both Chambers and civil society representatives to foster EU-Morocco relations, assess human rights situation and women's condition in the country. MEPs will also visit services aiming at facilitating the social and professional reintegration of migrants from Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal as well as an aeronautic industries technopole. (Monday to Wednesday)


        The delegation will be composed of Anders Primdahl VISTISEN (ECR, DK), Dubravka ŠUICA (EPP, HR), Cristian Dan PREDA (EPP, RO), Pier Antonio PANZERI (S&D, IT) who is the Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights, Gilles PARGNEAUX (S&D, FR), Patricia LALONDE (ALDE, FR), Jordi SOLÉ (Greens/EFA, ES), Maria ARENA (S&D, BE), and Inés AYALA SENDER (S&D, ES), Chair of the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union.

        • A delegation of five Budgetary Control Commitee MEPs will visit Croatia and Serbia on July 17-20. Led by Derek Vaughan (S&D, UK), the delegation will inspect EU-funded projects and meet with local authorities to discuss project management issues, such as administrative capacity, preventing and detecting of irregularities.

        Civil Liberties delegation to Washington D.C 

        Washington D.C. (17-21 July)

        This delegation, from the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee (LIBE) is a continuation of previous missions carried out by the LIBE Committee since 2012 and, in particular, the last mission in 2016. The objective of the visit is to obtain up-to-date information on the state of play and progress in the US on major topics which fall within the remit of the LIBE Committee. Several meetings with US authorities (e.g. Departments of State, Justice, Treasury, Homeland Security, Commerce, Federal Trade Commission) Congress representatives, stakeholders, academics and civil society are scheduled.


        The scope of the mission focuses on matters which directly affect EU-US relations in the field of justice and home affairs, more specifically, topics related to the protection of personal data (EU-US Privacy Shield and its implementation by the US, digital privacy and electronic communications, law enforcement), cybercrime, counterterrorism, radicalisation, immigration (ESTA Programme) and protection of victims.

        Petitions fact-finding mission to Taranto (Italy) 

        17-19 July

        Taranto (Italy)


        A delegation of MEPs from the Petitions Committee, led by Committee Chair Cecilia WIKSTRÖM (ALDE, SE), will visit the ILVA plant (Europe's largest integrated-cycle steelworks), the ENI oil refinery, and the site of the planned extension of the oil jetty. The purpose of the mission is to provide a follow-up to a series of petitions concerning heavy pollution of the air, soil, surface and ground waters both at the ILVA site and in the nearby Tamburi quarter.


        MEPs will meet with petitioners and national, regional and local authorities in order to obtain up-to-date information on matters raised by the petitioners and to identify viable solutions to the longstanding environmental problems. To this end, the delegation will meet with the Commissioner for Environmental Reclamation, the agencies ARPA and ASL responsible for overseeing environmental and public health policy, as well as the technical and administrative managers of ILVA and ENI.
