Legal Affairs MEPs will discuss better law making and ethics in AI

The JURI committee will take stock of recent communications and reports on Better Regulation policies, monitoring and enforcing Union law and strengthening the rule of law on Wednesday.

The presentation will be given by Pascal Leardini, Commission Deputy Secretary-General, Chief Operating Officer, and William Sleath, Commission Director on Wednesday afternoon, 6 November.

MEPs will also hold an exchange of views on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence at 15.30 with Andrea Renda, member of the High Level Experts Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI HLEG).


The Committee on Legal Affairs is responsible, for the interpretation, application and monitoring of Union law, for the respect for the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality, for better law making and the simplification of Union law. It is also responsible for ethical questions related to new technologies.
