Opening of 1-2 February plenary session
President Metsola opened the 1-2 February plenary session in Brussels.
Changes to the agenda
Thursday
Four reports by Mr Dzhambazki, Mr Halicki and Ms Aubry on the requests to waive the immunity of four Members and one report by Mr García del Blanco on the request to defend the immunity of a Member are added to the votes.
The vote on the resolution on “An EU strategy to boost industrial competitiveness, trade and quality jobs” is postponed to the February II part-session.
Council and Commission statements on the “situation of the former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili” are added as the second point in the morning. The statements will be followed by one round of political group speakers and the sitting will start at 8:30. The debate will be wound up with a resolution to be voted on at the next part-session.

Request by the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee to start negotiations with Council and Commission
Decisions by committees to enter into inter-institutional negotiations (Rule 71) are published on the plenary website.
If no request for a vote in Parliament on the decision to enter into negotiations is made by Thursday 12.00 midnight, the committees may start negotiations.
