A new pharmaceutical strategy for Europe


At 8.45, Commissioner Kyriakides will present and discuss the Commission’s new pharmaceutical strategy for Europe. In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, Parliament has called for manufacturing capacity in the EU to be increased in order to ensure access to safe and affordable medicines for all.

Human rights violations in Algeria, Ethiopia and Belarus

MEPs will set out their position on the cases of the Algerian journalist Khaled Drareni, on the situation in Ethiopia and on the assassination of Roman Bondarenko in Belarus in a debate at around 10.00, followed by votes on resolutions.

Voting will take place between 9.45 and 11.00; first results will be announced at 13.00. The last voting session starts at 13.45 and lasts until 15.00, with results announced at 16.30.


MEPs will have votes, among other things, on:


  • Fundamental rights in the EU
  • Export authorisations for dual-use items
  • EU trade policy review
  • Abortion rights in Poland.
