Petition Summary

The petitioner points out that on 22 March 2021 the European Union announced that it was to impose sanctions on a number of Chinese officials whom it blamed for China’s genocidal policies against Uyghurs. The petitioner thanks the EU for its attempts to do the Uyghurs justice. The petitioner considers that China’s genocide against Uyghurs shows that the Chinese Communist Party is a serious threat to common human values and international order. However, the free world’s response to China has been inadequate and weak. The petitioner urges the EU, together with the rest of the world, to collectively recognise the atrocity perpetrated by China against the Uyghurs as genocide and to take more urgent and concrete action. The petitioner calls on the European Union to create specific projects for Uyghurs to help them fight for their freedom and basic human rights.
