Petition Summary

The petitioner states that the people of Cuba need the support of the international community and the Institutions. He complains of human rights violations by the Cuban authorities. He recalls that the Cuban Government has not ratified the Convention against Torture, the Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, the Convention on the Rights of the Child or the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol. The petitioner requests that the European Institutions cease cooperating with the Cuban government, which has repeatedly violated EU-Cuba cooperation agreements. The Cuban diaspora abroad calls for a halt to the European Union’s collaboration with the Cuban regime and demands a cohesive foreign policy with its NATO allies to eradicate the longest-lasting bastion of tyranny in modern history once and for all. The petitioner calls for freedom and the return of democracy to Cuba and for human rights to be upheld.
