PETI Annual Workshops on the rights of persons with disabilities

Disability rights week © EP
Yearly workshops and studies, commissioned by the European Parliament’s Policy Department for Citizens’ Rights and Constitutional Affairs at the request of the Committee on Petitions (PETI), examine the progress made concerning disability.
Despite progress across the EU, petitions addressed to the Committee on Petitions still reveal persistent disparities between persons with and without disabilities, for example regarding poverty, access to jobs, inclusive education, housing, or healthcare services. Every year, the PETI Committee organises an annual workshop during the Disability Rights Week. On 2 December 2024, representatives from EU institutions and bodies, stakeholders and experts discussed the current and future challenges in disability assessment.
