The Hungarian Presidency will organize the LXXII Plenary Meeting of COSAC from 27 to 29 of October 2024 at the Hungarian National Assembly in Budapest
The Meeting of the Chairpersons of COSAC, hosted by the Hungarian National Assembly in Budapest took place on 29 July 2024 and was preceded by the meeting of the Presidential Troika of COSAC on Sunday 28 July.
The Hungarian Presidency will host the COSAC Chairpersons’ meeting in Budapest on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 July 2024.
The LXXI COSAC Plenary Meeting took place from 24 to 26 March 2024 at the European Parliament, within the framework of the parliamentary dimension of the Belgian Presidency of the Council.

The Spanish Parliament hosted the LXX COSAC Plenary Meeting within the framework of the parliamentary dimension of the Spanish Presidency of the Council.

The LXIX Plenary Meeting of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC), hosted by the Swedish Riksdag, took place in Stockholm on 14-16 May 2023
The Swedish Presidency will organise the LXIX Plenary Meeting of COSAC from 14-16 May 2023 in Stockholm.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting, hosted by the Swedish Parliament, took place in Stockholm on 30 January 2023 and was preceded by a meeting of the COSAC Presidential Troika on 29 January 2023.
The Swedish Presidency will host the COSAC Chairpersons’ meeting in Stockholm on Sunday 29 January and Monday 30 January.
The Czech Presidency organised in November the LXVIII COSAC Plenary Meeting in Prague. The delegation of the European Parliament was led by First Vice-President Mr Othmar Karas (EPP) and AFCO Committee Chair Mr Salvatore De Meo (EPP).
The Czech Presidency will organise the LXVIII COSAC Plenary Meeting from 13-15 November 2022, in Prague.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting, organised by the Czech Parliament, took place in Prague on 11 July 2022 at the premises of the upper chamber, the Czech Senate. This was the opening event of the parliamentary dimension of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The Czech Presidency will organise the COSAC Chairpersons’ meeting in Prague on Sunday 10 July and Monday 11 July. The European Parliament will be represented by First Vice-President Othmar Karas who will deliver the keynote speech in the second session on “Media and Democracy: Current Challenges”.
The LXVII COSAC Plenary Meeting was organized in Paris by the French Presidency on 3-5 March 2022. After two years of remotely held COSAC meetings, this was the first fully in-presence organised meeting at the premises of the French National Assembly.
The French Presidency will organise the LXVII COSAC Plenary Meeting from 3-5 March 2022, in Paris. The European Parliament will be represented by a six-Member Delegation, headed by First Vice-President Othmar Karas and AFCO Chair Antonio Tajani. A debate on Ukraine was added to the agenda.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting took place on 14 January 2022, in hybrid mode, organised from the premises of the French Senate in Paris. It was the first event within the scope of the Parliamentary Dimension of the French Presidency. A Presidential Troika meeting preceded it on the same day.
The delegation of the European Parliament was led by First Vice-President Roberta Metsola (EPP), and AFCO Committee Chair Antonio Tajani (EPP). It also included MEPs Vagelis Meimarakis (EPP), Biljana Borzan (S&D), Gerolf Annemans (ID) and Helmut Scholz (GUE/NGL).
The Slovenian Presidency will organise the LXVI COSAC Plenary Meeting via video-conference from Ljubljana on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 November 2021. The European Parliament will be represented by a six-Member Delegation, headed by First Vice-President Roberta Metsola and AFCO Chair Antonio Tajani.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting, organised by the Slovenian National Parliament, took place remotely on 19 July 2021. It was the first event within the scope of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council. A Presidential Troika meeting preceded on 16 July 2021.
The first interparliamentary event during the Slovenian Presidency will be the COSAC Chairpersons’ meeting, taking place remotely (via video-conference) on Monday 19 July at 9h00-12h45. The European Parliament will be represented by First Vice-President Roberta Metsola and AFCO Chair Antonio Tajani.
The LXV COSAC Plenary Meeting took place remotely on 31 May-1 June 2021.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting, organised by the Portuguese Assembleia da República, took place remotely on 11 January 2021 and it was the first Conference under the scope of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council.
This COSAC Virtual meeting took place remotely on 30 November-1 December 2020. It was jointly chaired by Mr Gunther Krichbaum and Mr Guido Wolf, chairmen of the European Affairs committees of, respectively, the German Bundestag and the German Bundesrat.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting, chaired by the German Federal Council (Bundesrat), took place remotely on 14 September 2020. The EP was represented by the Vice-Presidents in charge of relations with national Parliaments, Ms Mairead McGuinness and Ms Dita Charanzová.
On 27 March 2020, the Croatian Parliament announced the cancellation of the LXIII COSAC Plenary meeting that was scheduled to take place in Zagreb, on 24-26 May 2020.
The COSAC Chairpersons' meeting took place in Zagreb on 20-21 January 2020. It was the first interparliamentary event of the Croatian Presidency and brought together the Chairs of the EU Affairs Committees of the EU Parliaments and Chambers, the EP, and candidate and guest countries.
The LXII COSAC Plenary meeting took place in Helsinki, on 1-3 December 2019. Delegations from the EU national Parliaments and the EP had the possibility to debate on the CoFe, the Rule of Law in the EU and the EU Charter of FFRR, the future Commission, or a Winning Climate Strategy for Europe.
The LX (60th) COSAC Plenary meeting took place in Vienna, on18-20 November 2018. It offered Members from the EU National Parliaments and the European Parliament the possibility to debate the State of play of the Austrian Presidency of the EU Council, Brexit, Climate Policy and Energy Union and a transparent European Union closer to its citizens in light of the upcoming elections to the European Parliament.
The LIX (59th) COSAC Plenary meeting in Sofia on 17-19 June gathered Members from the EU national parliaments and the EP to discuss the integration of the Western Balkans and the enlargement policy, the Pillar of Social Rights, the future of the Cohesion Policy, and the future of interparliamentary cooperation, in the framework of the current debate on subsidiarity and proportionality and Timmermans Task Force.
The Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC) brings together the EU affairs committees of national Parliaments, as well as Members of the European Parliament.
COSAC plenary meetings take place twice a year. At these meetings, each Parliament is represented by six Members. Each plenary meeting is prepared for by holding a meeting of the EU Affairs Committee Chairpersons.
The European Parliament delegation to COSAC is co-chaired by one of the Vice-Presidents responsible for Relations with national Parliaments and the Chair of the EP Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO).
The national Parliaments of the EU candidate countries are also invited to participate with three observers each. COSAC meetings usually take place in the capital of the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
