The Sakharov Walk of Freedom celebrates the winners of the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

The Sakharov Walk of Freedom consists of 43 ceramic-based tiles arranged on the Solidarność Esplanade outside the European Parliament in Brussels, inscribed with short texts about all the Sakharov Prize laureates. The tiles, manufactured by Majolika Karlsruhe, are arranged chronologically, starting with 1988 when the Sakharov Prize was first awarded.

Make the Sakharov Walk of Freedom, accessible all day every day, part of your visit to the European Parliament in Brussels.

The area is currently under renovation and is planned to reopen in 2021.
