Equal treatment between men and women in the access to and supply of goods and services (A7-0044/2013 - Zita Gurmai)

Claude Moraes (S&D), in writing. − I voted for this report because I am committed to continuing the fight against gender discrimination for my London constituents. Insurance companies and related financial services will now have to treat individual male and female customers equally in terms of premiums and benefits. Some Member States’ governments have used the crisis as an excuse to delay gender equality reforms on the premise that they are not vital, but with my women constituents in London bearing a disproportionate amount of the cuts which our austerity-focused government has made, it is unacceptable to think that the fight for women's equality is of lesser importance.
