Marta Andreasen (ECR), in writing. − I voted against the Gardini report on a civil protection mechanism because the budget for the civil protection mechanism will almost double in the next seven years from EUR 189 million to EUR 326.6 million, which I consider unacceptable. I have significant concerns regarding the potential for mission creep by the Commission in a number of loosely defined provisions. I am concerned also about the proposed new 24/7 European Emergency Response Capacity which could unnecessarily interfere with Member Statesʼ response to disasters inside the EU.
